1. Purpose of This Document
This page sets out the responsible gaming framework that applies to all accounts registered with Lethbridge and accessible from Canada. It describes the tools available to players, the obligations of both parties, the procedures for managing gambling activity, and the support resources available to individuals who may be experiencing gambling-related harm.
Responsible gaming refers to a set of practices, controls, and information designed to support informed and safer participation in gambling. It is distinct from problem gambling, which describes a pattern of gambling behaviour that causes harm and may require professional intervention. Responsible gaming is treated as a compliance and consumer-protection matter, not as a promotional feature.
2. Scope and Application
This policy applies to all registered account holders accessing Lethbridge from Canadian provinces and territories. Because gambling regulation in Canada is administered at the provincial and territorial level, specific obligations and available tools may reflect the requirements of the jurisdiction from which an account is accessed. Players are responsible for understanding the rules that apply in their province or territory.
3. Player Obligations
By registering and maintaining an account with Lethbridge, the account holder confirms the following:
- The account holder is at least the minimum legal age for gambling in their province or territory of residence.
- The account is used solely by the registered account holder.
- The account holder has read and understood this policy before engaging in any gambling activity.
- The account holder accepts responsibility for monitoring their own gambling behaviour and using the tools described in this policy when needed.
- The account holder will not attempt to circumvent account restrictions, self-exclusion measures, or limit settings.
4. Account Controls and Limit Tools
Lethbridge provides account-level controls that allow players to manage the parameters of their gambling activity. These tools are available through account settings and, where applicable, through the support team.
4.1 Deposit Limits
Players may set a maximum deposit amount applicable over a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once a deposit limit is active, it cannot be increased immediately. Any request to raise an existing limit is subject to a mandatory cooling-off period before the increase takes effect. Reductions to deposit limits take effect immediately upon confirmation.
4.2 Session and Time Controls
Players may set a maximum duration for a single gambling session. When the session limit is reached, the player is notified and the session is closed. Reality-check notifications may also be configured to alert the player at defined intervals during an active session.
4.3 Loss Limits
A loss limit defines the maximum net loss permitted within a specified period. As with deposit limits, reductions take effect immediately. Increases are subject to a cooling-off period and are not applied until that period has elapsed.
4.4 Wager Limits
Players may set a maximum stake per individual bet or game round. This limit applies across all activity on the account during the period for which it is set.
5. Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is a formal measure by which a player requests that their account be closed and access to Lethbridge be blocked for a defined period or indefinitely.
5.1 How to Request Self-Exclusion
A self-exclusion request must be submitted through the account settings or by contacting the Lethbridge support team directly. The request must specify the duration of the exclusion. Once confirmed, the exclusion takes effect promptly and the account is suspended.
5.2 Duration and Reinstatement
Self-exclusion periods are available for a minimum defined term. Indefinite self-exclusion is also available. Reinstatement after a fixed-term exclusion is not automatic. The player must submit a formal request, and a mandatory reflection period applies before access is restored. Lethbridge reserves the right to decline reinstatement where there is reason to believe the player remains at risk.
5.3 Scope of Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion through Lethbridge applies to the registered account. Players who wish to exclude from all licensed gambling operators in their province should contact the relevant provincial regulator or self-exclusion program directly. Lethbridge self-exclusion does not automatically extend to third-party platforms or provincial exclusion registers.
6. Account Activity Statements
Players may request a statement of their account activity, including deposit history, withdrawal history, session duration, and net gaming result over a specified period. This information is provided to support informed decision-making and is available on request through the account settings or support team.
7. Cooling-Off Periods
A cooling-off period is a temporary suspension of gambling activity shorter than a full self-exclusion. Players may request a cooling-off period of a defined duration. During this period, the account remains registered but gambling activity is suspended. Deposits are not accepted during a cooling-off period. The player may not cancel a cooling-off period before it expires.
8. Minor Protection
Lethbridge does not permit account registration or gambling activity by individuals below the legal gambling age in their province or territory. Age verification is required as part of the account registration process. Account holders are responsible for ensuring that minors do not access their account or gambling devices. If Lethbridge has reason to believe that a minor has accessed an account, the account will be suspended pending investigation.
9. Identification of At-Risk Behaviour
Lethbridge monitors account activity for indicators that may suggest gambling-related harm. These indicators may include rapid increases in deposit frequency, repeated failed attempts to cancel limits, patterns of extended session duration, or requests to reverse self-exclusion shortly after it is applied. Where such indicators are identified, Lethbridge may contact the account holder, apply temporary restrictions, or refer the player to support resources. This monitoring does not replace the player’s own responsibility to use the tools described in this policy.
